David Eddings was born in Spokane, Washington in 1931, and was raised in the Puget Sound area north of Seattle. He is a best-selling fantasy novelist, most noted for his Belgariad and Mallorean series. Eddings has written six other novels in two three book series - the Elenium and Tamuli, as well as two non-fantasy novels - High Hunt and The Losers.
