Actor, born 7 April 1934, Edinburgh, Scotland. For years he was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and spent much of his career on British TV. He is best known for his TV role of Francis Urquhart in the TV drama series 'House of Cards' and 'To Play the King '. Ian's acting was rewarded in 1989 when he was appointed a CBE.
