Freediving refers to breathold diving.
Freedivers can be pure breathold divers, spearfishermen (done on breathold), abaloners (harvesting abalones on breathold). The name refers to anyone who dives on breathold.
Freediving is not the same as snorkeling. Snorkelling is done from the surface and does not include any serious breathold.
